Music PR: Abbey Road Hires Taylor Herring.
The world’s most famous recording studio, Abbey Road Studios, has hired Taylor Herring PR following a competitive pitch.
Best known for the recording of nearly all The Beatles’ music, and immortalised by their best-selling 1969 album ‘Abbey Road’, the studios have been at the heart of the world’s music industry and the British music scene for more than 75 years. Opened by Sir Edward Elgar in 1931, artists including Pink Floyd, Oasis, Kate Bush, Radiohead and U2 have all recorded landmark albums at the studios which have pioneered new recording, mixing and mastering techniques.
The agency is charged with leveraging the famous brand and maximising assets to support key business objectives including building awareness of new audio products and mastering services available to a range of professional and non-professional music making audiences.
The studio’s new audio products will enable emerging bedroom producers and unsigned musicians to benefit from Abbey Road’s legendary expertise and sound.
The PR brief includes all aspects of offline and digital PR, including key international markets, and is the first time the EMI owned studio has appointed external PR support.
Taylor Herring managing partner Adrian Lee and senior account manager Lily Fallala will report to Kerin Purcell, Head of Brand and Marketing.
Purcell said, “Taylor Herring impressed with their passion and understanding of our strategic requirements. Technological advances and the development of low cost equipment now mean that millions of people are recording and mixing music beyond the walls of traditional studios and we are keen to inspire these audiences, offering products and services so that they too can achieve a piece of the ‘Abbey Road sound’.”
