Bare Your Wardrobe for Charity.
LONDON, Thursday 18th March 2010: The UK’s biggest charity Cancer Research UK has partnered with brands-for-less retailers TK Maxx and HomeSense for a fourth year to launch the UK’s longest running charity collection partnership to raise valuable funds for the treatment and cure of childhood cancers.
Launched in 2004 and referred to previously as GiveGet, the 2010 campaign is called Give Up Clothes for Good and is calling upon the nation to strip their wardrobes bare for the biggest clothing and homeware collection ever. Supported by celebrities and shoppers across the country, the campaign has already raised a staggering £3.2 million worth of donations to help beat children’s cancer and aims to raise over £6 million for groundbreaking research by the end of 2010.
Give up Clothes for Good runs from 5th-25th April with special donation bags available free in TK Maxx and HomeSense stores from late March. However, all bags are welcome – from bin bags to supersize carrier bags.
So hang on to unwanted gifts, strip your wardrobes as bare as you dare and drop in your unwanted, quality clothing and household items to any TK Maxx or HomeSense store between 5th and 25th April. Each bag donated could be worth up to £30. For more details on how to support the campaign, please visit www.tkmaxx.com.
