Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model is back.
LONDON, Tuesday 21st June 2011, Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model is back…and the competition for the Top Model crown is bigger than ever. This year the search reaches the next level as the judges hit the road for nationwide auditions, with no stone left unturned in the trawl for true beauty. Exclusive to Sky Living, the seventh series promises more rivalry, higher drama and hotter glamour…
Supermodel Elle Macpherson and the elite panel commence their search by travelling to six cities throughout the UK on the quest to find a fresh faced fashion starlet, and from the opening audition stages right through to the intense finale, viewers will follow the competitors every step of the way.
Returning alongside Elle Macpherson are an esteemed judging panel comprising leading designer Julien Macdonald, supreme stylist Grace Woodward and male model Charley Speed. With their extensive list of fashion credentials, these experts know what they are looking for in the next face of high fashion, and competition between the four has never been fiercer.
Should the hopefuls survive the audition rounds and a mass cull in the dreaded Boot Camp, where 90 girls go down to 13, the models in the making will have their fashion savvy tested at every turn. Over thirteen weeks the competitors must perfect their catwalk attitude, show off their editorial edge in photo shoots and impress the judges at the dreaded weekly eliminations, when one imperfect pose or clumsy catwalk could mean they are sent home.
This series will also see Elle and the panel joined by a number of high profile guest judges, who hail from all corners of the fashion world, to help the experts decide which girl should continue on in the competition. Among those lending their professional opinion are former supermodel and fashion legend Janice Dickenson, international model Tyson Beckford, designer Henry Holland, pop superstar Sophie Ellis Bexter and Irish beauty Yvonne Keating. They will be on hand to oversee an exciting line up of challenges, which include a daring nude shoot, where the girls must quickly lose their inhibitions, an underwater photo session, and of course the dramatic makeovers, where emotions run high.
For the winner, this year’s enviable prize package includes a contract with international agency Models 1, a cover and feature within Company magazine and a contract with Revlon cosmetics, whom Elle herself is a global ambassador for. In addition, for the first time ever, the chosen girl will begin her jet-set model lifestyle with a luxury holiday to the Sandals Resort in Jamaica and a brand new Peugeot RCZ. She will also kick start her fashion career by fronting an international campaign with High Street über-brand Miss Selfridge. Previous series winners have taken part in campaigns for Swatch, Sony and ASOS, as well as being photographed for Russian Vogue.
The search for the UK’s newest catwalk queen begins as Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model returns on Monday 4th July at 9pm, exclusively on Sky Living.
