Taylor Herring hires Jack Peat to run editorial Newsroom.
Taylor Herring has unveiled a brand-new editorial division designed to supercharge the agency’s news distribution strategy across traditional media and platforms including TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat.
The newly launched ‘Newsroom’ division will focus on enhancing the agency’s output to news publishers.
The department will craft bespoke content for social news platforms, whilst providing clients with strategic counsel on the media landscape.
Heading up the new initiative is Jack Peat, former floating editor at social lifestyle site JOE and editor of The London Economic (TLE), who takes up the role of Head of Newsroom today.
Peat brings extensive news experience, having achieved a monthly social media reach of 80 million with TLE and shaping editorial output within the JOE Media Group. He has also contributed to titles including VICE, Big Issue, The Independent, and HuffPost, and spent five years as Head of Digital at SWNS newswire, where he overhauled the agency’s digital strategy.

Under Peat’s leadership, Taylor Herring is also launching a Communications Academy – a next-gen training hub for young talent to be upskilled in the art of public relations.
The academy will offer bespoke modules covering news craft, media strategy, copywriting, and social news content creation.
The new Newsroom department and Academy have been designed by Taylor Herring’s Managing Director, Sam Corry, who said: “Publishers are investing heavily in social news distribution on platforms like TikTok and Snapchat. Our Newsroom is designed to future-proof the agency’s news output, whilst guiding clients through the rapidly evolving media landscape. Jack’s expertise in news algorithms and creating thumb-stopping content will be a huge asset.”
“Taylor Herring is renowned for its creativity and contacts, and we’re committed to keeping media relations at the heart of our business. The new Communications Academy will serve as a dynamic training hub for the next generation of PR talent, nurturing a strong pipeline of young professionals, while whilst also increasing visibility and access to the industry”.
Jack Peat, Head of Newsroom at Taylor Herring, said: “Social media is tearing up the rule book when it comes to how people consume news, giving rise to a new generation which demand visual, accessible and digestible content. Traditional news outlets remain of key importance, but agencies need to meet audiences in their everyday social feeds. This requires a bespoke creative approach and I’m excited to be joining one of the most prolific creative comms teams in the UK PR industry”.
Taylor Herring has won PR Week’s ‘Agency Of The Year’ four times in the last eight years (from Small to Mid-Size) and holds the record of winning more PR Week awards in the last decade than any other agency – as well as Cannes Lions, D&AD pencils, the Grand Prix at The Drum Marketing Awards.
