I believe I can fly.

An Imperial Eagle called Darshan has allowed us a rare glimpse of the incredible views that having a 6 ft wing span can allow. Flying from the top of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Darshan has set a new world record for ‘highest-ever recorded bird flight from a man-made structure.’

With a live-stream camera strapped to his back, Darshan descended a vertical distance of 2,700 ft, landing by a fountain at the base of the building. According to Quartz, the eagle was ‘trained by a falconer in Thonon, France’ and having been born in captivity, had never before flown that high.

The stunt was organised by conservation group ‘Freedom Conservation’, in order to raise awareness of the plight of endangered eagles.
