‘Action Park’ New Jersey make a record breaking splash.
We’ve all seen the famous Barclaycard water slide adverts, and now amusement resort Action Park in New Jersey is making the dream a reality – housing a record breaking 1,975 ft long water slide, making it the longest in the world.
The inflatable slide uses over 1,000 gallons of water for each hour that it runs, and allows riders to reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour for the minute and a half duration on the slide.
The brains behind the idea, Jim Hunt, created the slide in order to raise awareness for mental health charity ‘Live More Awesome’, going by the idea that “nobody can be sad on a water slide”, allowing everyone to get out into the sun and have something to look forward to.
Park workers were the first to test out the ride which has said to be a success. Excuse us while we just book our flights.
